These include a comprehensive on-day leprosy surveys at the block level, cataract survey camps, preparing for spreading awareness about the control of diarrhea and goiter, village-level camps for the disabled to identify and assess their individual needs.

Drug has also achieved put standing success in the pulse polio immunization campaigns. As part of the literacy to health campaign, 15 booklets on various health problems were published by the BGVS and major health education programmes were initiated.

A successful anti-goiters campaign launched in the post-literacy blocks saw iodized salt gain popularity among the villagers. As a fall out of the literacy efforts, the district made great strides in family planning and immunization programme.
